Cortez Vaughn II, Senior Pastor of three thriving ministries— Cathedral of Praise International Ministries (San Bernardino, CA), HTC Ministries (Detroit, MI), and Evangelistic Center International Church (Kansas City, KS)—has truly been on a mission to fulfill his destiny in the earth! Emerging from a long line of anointed men and women of God, Vaughn was greatly
influenced by his grandfather, Pastor Willie C. Vaughn who was affectionately known as "Dad Vaughn" and the patriarch who played a significant role in the birthing of Azusa.
Like many, Cortez began his work in the church at a very young age. He continued to be an intricate part of the church’s music department and was promoted to Music Pastor by age 16. Soon after, he accepted the call to ministry and served as one of the Associate Pastors under his father at Evangelistic Center.
Bishop Vaughn not only holds a Doctor of Divinity Degree but by the leading of the Holy Spirit, in 2015, Bishop Vaughn connected with The Global United Fellowship of Churches consisting of over 1,500 churches world-wide where he serves as the Bishop of Music & Fine Arts and the Western Deanery Metropolitan Bishop–charged with overseeing hundreds of churches in over 18 States encompassing the West Coast and Midwest regions now under the leadership of the current Presiding Bishop of GUF, His Grace Bishop Joel Peebles, Sr.
Bishop Cortez is an anointed and talented Recording Artist, Musician, Songwriter, and Producer! He’s a Two-Time Grammy nominated & Eight-Time Stellar Award Winner! His hit single “YOU DESERVE IT” where he served as both songwriter and featured vocalist, is still hailed as an international worship anthem, garnering other multiple awards including ASCAP, Billboard, Dove, BET, and others!
God continues to show favor as Bishop Cortez shows no signs of slowing down! His new singles are scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2025 while his long awaiting singles “Beautiful One” and “I'm Why” debuted on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and remains radio favorites.
Vaughn, a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., has been featured on several music projects, including the international hit project “Love On The Cross/Grateful Heart” with South African Platinum Recording Artist Dr. Tumi. The collaboration he did with American Christian Hip-Hop Artist, Emcee N.I.C.E was not only nominated for a Grammy but has been featured in an awe-inspiring film entitled “The Answer.” Bishop Vaughn has also been featured on several national tours and has shared the stage with some of the industry’s most respected names including Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond, Israel Houghton, Pastor Mike Jr, Todd Dulaney, Jekalyn Carr, Tye Tribbett, and more! His heart's desire is to be used by God any way GOD sees fit.
